Solid and Industrial Waste Feasibility Study

DSM, working as a sub-contractor under a U.S. Trade and Development Agency project, worked on a year-long project with Corrientes Province, located in northeastern Argentina, on an assessment of the current waste management system and development of recommendations for upgrading the current solid and industrial waste collection, recycling, and disposal system.

The results of the study were designed for use by the Province to apply for international financial assistance in remedying major health and environmental problems associated with the current system.

As part of the project, DSM conducted waste sorts in urban and rural areas to determine composition and quantities of waste. DSM also toured over fifteen different locations to observe current waste management collection and disposal practices and participated in many presentations to civic leaders regarding the purpose and outcome of the project.
